Mandala is an olfactory journey into meditation and spirituality, inspired by the hypnotic resonance of monastic overtone singing. Alessandro and Riccardo envisioned a fragrance that could “sing two notes at the same time,” capturing the trance-like aura of a distant monastery. Perfumer Christian Carbonnel, known for his mastery of spicy and ambery compositions, brought this vision to life with a bold interplay of myrrh and frankincense.
The fragrance opens with a kaleidoscope of spices, evoking the richness of a sacred, time-worn ritual. Although oud is absent, the combination of resins creates a deep, smoky and woody warmth. The myrrh and frankincense collide in a powerful, dizzying burst - before merging into a single, unbroken harmony, where the bitterness of myrrh softens into the meditative stillness of frankincense.
