About the brand

The Gritti family revived ancient formulas created by their ancestor Alvise Gritti, a Venetian nobleman and alchemist. Alvise Gritti worked in the 16th century, being a pioneer in creating fragrances capable of awakening emotions. The company logo is based on the family coat of arms, with the family motto on the ribbon above: 'Do not let difficulties break you.' The story began in charming 16th century Venice. Alvise Gritti was a curious and brilliant man, not prone to doubts, a learned alchemist, and a great traveler. He sailed east, finding himself in new cultures.
