The emergence of chypre fragrances dates back to the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century. Traditionally, oakmoss with fresh bergamot served as the base for chypre. It's the scent of a forest thicket on a hot summer day after the rain. However, in the modern world of perfumery, the chypre family has been reinterpreted. Moss has been successfully replaced with woody, amber, and leather notes. And chypre can easily acquire an oriental sound. Gecko is a magical interweaving of leather, a lace of bitter herbs, spices, and incense. It's a smoldering bonfire that has touched the sprouts of grass and mixed with the scent of blooming immortelle. It's the first warm rays of the sun and the anticipation of the change of seasons, where sweet mandarin playfully intertwines with spicy saffron and caraway, completing the transition of the fragrance from warm and smoky-sweet to cool and spicy. It all ends with a stunning bouquet of smoky amber and rough suede framed by osmanthus and nutmeg, enhancing the earthy notes. This aristocratic, mysterious scent, built on the contrast of warm and cold elements, reflects the richness and depth of Eastern perfumery.
