This time, their journey takes them to Italy, to one of the most enchanting and beautiful cities in the world – Venice. This unique, timeless city preserves and carries through the years and centuries the secrets of leather craftsmanship. Venetian leather, handcrafted in workshops filling the narrow streets of the city, is known throughout Europe. Captivated by the delicate scent of leather with a hint of honey, perfumers Michel Almairac and Clément Marx have created a new woody-leather fragrance composition with refined facets and warm, spicy notes. As the perfumers say: 'We wanted to create a sensual and enveloping scent that would be like a second skin. As the main ingredient in the composition, we chose the essence of guaiac wood – in combination with other woody notes (cedar, patchouli, and papyrus) its intensity gives the fragrance richness, while cocoa absolute and extract lend the fragrance sweetness and sensuality.' The composition is further enhanced by the freshness of ginger and cinnamon, and a note of saffron adds richness to this mix. Warm shades of guaiac wood, papyrus, and leather notes then emerge. Combined with the sensual patchouli, they create a 'second skin' effect. In the base notes, cocoa absolute and vanilla combined with American cedar create an enveloping trail.
